How Big of a Problem is Stress and Anxiety?
You've most likely heard, read or experienced firsthand how stress and anxiety impacts the body. A quick Google search for "stress and anxiety 2018" results in 1,450,000 news reports. Clearly this is an issue that has a huge effect on all ages. A Mayo Clinic article outlines how stress alone has the effects listed below. Why CranioSacral Therapy?
One of the best parts of my job as a bodyworker is seeing the before and after effects of a CranioSacral Therapy session on a clients face. It's amazing how such a gentle technique normalizes the central nervous system. A stressed out client may feel more relaxed so they can approach their job, family and life with more ease. Volleyball Setter's Sprained Ankle
This past spring, an athlete - who also happens to be my daughter - sprained her ankle after a classmate accidentally stepped on it in gym class. The ankle swelled up immediately and she had a big JO volleyball tournament the following weekend. In addition to standard protocol of ice, compression and elevation, it was a great opportunity to see if CranioSacral Therapy - combined with Fascia/Tissue Release - would help the healing process. And most importantly to my daughter, get back on the court in time for the tournament.
